My favourite museums

A masterpiece is still a masterpiece, when the lights are off, the room is empty, and without the applause of the people.
— Charlotte Geier, Elfwood

I've had the incredible opportunity to visit numerous museums, each filled with breathtaking works of art. I must admit that each one particularly impressed me and holds a special place in my heart. Some I remember for their special exhibitions or as settings in favorite movies and series, but mostly for their magnificent artistic treasures.

Here are my top picks for must-see museums:

Museum Segantini, St. Moritz

In the heart of St. Moritz, the Segantini Museum features the largest collection of works by Alpine painting innovator and renowned Symbolist, Giovanni Segantini.

The MET, New York

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, located on Fifth Avenue in New York City, stands as one of the world's grandest and most esteemed art museums. Beyond its artistic treasures, the museum holds a special place in the hearts of Gossip Girl fans, who fondly recognize its iconic stairs from the beloved series.

Museum of the Future, Dubai

If you find yourself in Dubai, don't forget to visit the beautiful Museum of the Future. Here, the future is not only exhibited but also performed, allowing you to experience the beauty of what lies ahead all in one place.

Yves Saint Laurent, Marrakech

The Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech is not just a tribute to the legendary artist and designer, but a journey through the ages of fashion. It offers a lifetime experience, showcasing beauty in every form through its stunning exhibitions.

Musée d'Orsay, Paris

The heart of Paris will always have room for all lovers and art admirers. Musée d'Orsay holds a special place in my heart, not just because Blair met Prince Louis there, but because it serves as a gateway into the world's history of art and humanity. Its enchanting halls and timeless masterpieces make every visit a journey through the ages & history.

Fondation Beyeler, Basel

Fondation Beyeler stands as a hub for culture and art in Basel - personally, my go-to destination when I'm craving an artistic experience in Switzerland. Apart from its intriguing exhibitions, Fondation Beyeler offers a variety of workshops. Additionally, you will find the most charming cafe there.

The Albertina, Vienna

The Albertina Museum in Vienna is a cultural gem showcasing diverse art from various periods and styles. From delving into Picasso's mind and history to exploring other renowned artists, it offers a journey through the world of art.

Louvre, Abu Dhabi

In the heart of Abu Dhabi, the Louvre is strongly connected with the one in Paris. Louvre Abu Dhabi is a beacon of cultural exchange, blending art from diverse civilizations and eras under one iconic dome.

Each of these museums offers a unique and unforgettable experience, making them essential stops for any art lover.

I hope you enjoyed my post, and I'm happy to hear your thoughts if you'd like to delve deeper into discussing museums! :)
