City Exclusive - Le Labo

As soon as September arrives, my heart feels lighter. There are so many reasons I love this month—my own birthday, the celebrations of friends because many of my friends and family are sharing Virgo as Zodiac sign, the first signs of autumn with its rain and golden leaves, and of course, the cozy ritual of hot chocolate and coffee. But September also means something very special in the fragrance world: Le Labo’s City Exclusives.

What are City Exclusives?

Le Labo is known for its unique, hand-crafted approach to perfumery, and the City Exclusive collection takes that exclusivity to another level. Each fragrance is dedicated to a specific city and is only available for purchase there—unlike the regular collection, such as Santal 33, Matcha 26, or Rose 31.

Some of the City Exclusives include Vanille 44 in Paris and Osmanthus 19 in Kyoto. They are pure love letters to their cities, and sometimes I find myself wondering why these particular olfactory notes were chosen to represent each place? If anyone knows about this I would like to hear it more.

But once a year—during the entire month of September—Le Labo makes these treasures available worldwide. This means you don’t need a plane ticket to Tokyo or New York; you can simply walk into your local Le Labo boutique and explore the whole collection.

Sadly, a City Exclusive for Zürich still doesn’t exist.

It was a successful day!

All in all, I didn’t have to travel to Kyoto to finally get my long-awaited Osmanthus 19. And to make it even more special, it was raining—I grabbed my favorite hot chocolate and enjoyed a cozy walk through the old town of my city <3
